Ross T Riddell

After dedicating 21 years to the Fire Service, culminating in a Public Safety Manager role for Auckland Airport in New Zealand, Ross left the uniformed world to embark on a consultancy career.

Over the past 25 years, he has been instrumental in designing training programs, fire training facilities, and procuring vehicles and equipment for governments.

He was even selected by the World Bank for a major vehicle infrastructure and consultancy projects in the South Pacific.

Due to his Māori heritage, Ross has a deep respect for all cultures and a real understanding of the importance of building and maintaining relationships in all lands. This emphasis on relationships and respect is something that has been entrenched in his professional and personal life.

Gavin Watts

Chief Fire Officer

Gavin is an experienced fire and rescue professional with a wide range of experience in emergency services. A former Chief Fire Officer, he has held important positions such as Equipment/Fleet Officer, Resources Manager, Assistant/Deputy Chief Officer, and Director of Operations for West Sussex County Council.

He has a degree in Fire Engineering and Management, a Postgraduate Certificate in Strategic Leadership, and is a certified auditor.

Gavin has achieved a number of successes, including creating a 10-year risk management plan for a local authority fire and rescue service, overseeing de-merger and merger for emergency call handling functions, merging major vehicle fleet functions, being the Senior Regional Coordinator for Covid testing and implementing emergency mortuary provision during the pandemic.

Gavin is an experienced fire engineering and management professional with a wide range of experience in emergency services.

Peter Moore

Chief Fire Officer

Peter is currently the Chief of the second biggest Airport in New Zealand (Christchurch) and has a wealth of experience in both aircraft and structural firefighting in over a 40 year career .

He has a Graduate Diploma in Emergency Management from Massey University in New Zealand and is a Fellow of the New Zealand Fire Brigades Institute. Peter is an experienced and knowledgeable professional in the field of Task Resource Analysis (TRA) having completed TRAs for airports in New Zealand and abroad, Peter has a passion for training and mentoring.

He has helped several airports set up their Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) services and in that process has provided initial training and writing of Operations Manual and Training Programs and Airport Emergency Plans. Peter is a true professional who sets high standards for himself and those working with him.

John Mure

Battalion Chief

John T. Mure is a highly qualified emergency response professional with extensive experience in hazardous materials management, aircraft rescue fire fighting, structural fire fighting, and command officer roles.

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Public Safety Administration and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Public Safety. With over 40 years of experience in public safety, John is currently the Senior Battalion Chief of the Phoenix Fire Department's Sky Harbor International Airport, leading a team of Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighters and delivering training on various topics to support them.

He has also been deployed to the Oklahoma City Bombing and the World Trade Center emergency as a Haz Mat technician and Search Team Manager. . His expertise in Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) and hazardous materials allows him to understand how different aspects of safety can be interconnected, helping his clients see the bigger picture.

Aaron Heller

Deputy Chief Retired

Aaron retired as the Deputy Fire Chief for Hamilton New Jersey Fire Department. He was responsible for the training division and overseeing all firefighters and fire officers.

He was also in involved in all of the financial aspects of the department such as payroll, purchasing, budgeting, and human resources.

Aaron commanded a team of 6 engine companies and 2 truck companies, and was responsible for emergency responses in the Township of Hamilton.

He also oversaw the training division and arranged fire, rescue, EMS and special operations training programs. In the earlier part of his career, he worked as a fire inspector and was responsible for responding to all types of emergencies and performing fire inspections in accordance with the New Jersey State Fire Code.

Carl Haddon

Deputy Chief

Carl is the Deputy Chief for a Rural Combination Fire Department in the Rocky Mountains of Central Idaho and is the holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical science.

His duties include personnel training and vehicle deployment, development and implementation of a fire-based EMS system, management and administration of the North Fork Fire Department, development and implementation of a 5 Star Rated National Training Program for Fire Departments and EMS providers, coordination of traveling fire service training programs, emergency plan writing, plan review and update, real-time plan testing exercising, and writing monthly articles for Fire Engineering on innovations and advances in rescue/extrication equipment, techniques, and challenges in the fire service.

Brian Dennison

Maritime Director

Brian has been the Training Director at Port Canaveral Maritime Training Academy since 1998. With 35 years of experience as a Fire Captain , he has vast operational experience in pre-hospital medical care, firefighting, emergency response, emergency management, mass casualty management, hazardous materials, and confined space operations. managing emergency scenes for the busiest cruise port in the world.

At the Academy, he serves as lead instructor and curriculum coordinator for all maritime courses

He works extensively with several cruise lines to provide fire and safety training to crew members to meet industry standards and is also utilized by international cruise lines and individuals seeking employment in the marine industry. Brian is committed to training people from all backgrounds in safe responses to emergency situations and is a public education specialist to local community organizations and schools. He heads up our Maritime Response Team.

Phil Jackson

Brian Snodgrass

Brian Snodgrass is an experienced and dedicated professional who has served the City of Phoenix with distinction for over 30 years.

He is dual-certified with the Phoenix Fire and Police Departments, and holds numerous positions, including Tactical Training Officer, Fire Arms Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Driving Instructor, Arson Training Officer, ALS Engine Captain and ARFF Training Coordinator.

He is also the Terrorism Liaison Officer for Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, and has co-presented at multiple ARFF Working Group Conferences on Airport Terrorism and the Changing Responsibilities of ARFF Personnel.

In 2018, he was honored with the Brian Pugh Outstanding ARFF Training Officer of the Year Award. Brian currently serves as the 2nd Vice Chair on the ARFF Working Group Board of Directors, and is committed to making an impactful contribution to the ARFF industry.

Simon O'Leary

Simon is a highly qualified and experienced Deputy Crew Commander at Auckland Airport New Zealand Fire Service.

He has numerous certifications, including National Certificates in Aeronautical Engineering Mechanical (Airframes), Powerplant Aircraft Engineer . At Auckland International Airport, Fire and Rescue Service he is a Workplace assessor 4098, holds positions in Adult teaching level 4, Rosenbauer Panther Instructor, Emergency Response Driver trainer, Confined space Rescue Instructor, Rescue Fire Officer and Royal Yacht Association Advanced Certificate. Additionally he is a Senior Trainer at the Auckland Airport Fire Training school and Regional Trainer for Fire and Emergency New Zealand.d

Steve Taft

Steve is a Crew Commander at Auckland Airport where he has served for 26 years.

He has extensive experience in Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting, Structural Firefighting,Marine Search & Rescue, Medical Response, Hazmat, Bulk Fuels, Command & Control, Leadership and tactical planning. He has responded to various emergencies and is passionate about teaching and training others. Steve has mentored many firefighters throughout his career and played an important role in the development of the Auckland Airport Fire Service.

Chris Menge

Chris is an experienced emergency services professional with 20 years of experience in , resource management, public safety, training and emergency response.

He has strong leadership skills and a reputation for hard work. Chris has provided oversight and coordination of community partners, developed training programs, delivered New York State Emergency Services curriculums to agencies across the state, supervised classes with 20-25 students, trained and certified other instructors, responded to Hurricane Irene as a task force leader in Schoharie County 2011 and received two team excellence awards in back to back IGX military exercises.

Additionally he has trained over 100 new Iraqi firefighters and assisted in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for incident commanders, supervisors and firefighters in the middle east.

JP Bober

For the past 25 years, JP has worked in Mechanical Engineering and has had 12 years of experience in various Emergency Services.

He is currently employed by New Zealand's largest airport as a Senior Rescue Fire Fighter and is also a part of the national ambulance service, St. John.

His skill set has been further strengthened by his roles as an instructor, which involves providing training in Medical EMT, Aviation Fire Fighting, Forcible Entry techniques, Structural Search & Rescue, Fire suppression techniques, Marine Search and Rescue, Hovercraft piloting and Fire appliance/vehicle maintenance and operational fault finding. JP has a real passion for helping others and increasing their skill base.

Jess Neho

Jess has been employed as a Senior Rescue Firefighter at the largest airport in New Zealand, Auckland Airport, for 8 years.

She is qualified as a Deputy Crew Commander and has been extensively trained in providing assistance to emergencies in and around the airport.

She is proficient in various rescue techniques, including Marine Search and Rescue (with Skipper/RYA Advanced Qualification), Hovercraft operation, Aviation and appliance usage, Medical Response, Structural firefighting, and Fire appliance/vehicle maintenance and management.

Jess's goal is to make a positive difference in her community by helping those in need, something that she takes great pride in.

Ross Riddell

Ross began his career in project management at the start of the 21st century when he was hired by the American Samoa government to revise and upgrade their Airport Rescue Fire Service. This involved working with both the national government and the US Federal Government, including the Department of the Interior, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Department of Homeland Security.

Over his time there, he managed more than 50 million dollars in grants and provided the territory with 3 fire stations, 8 new firefighting vehicles, and a modern fire training facility.

After his contract ended, his expertise in design and procurement led him to be asked by AECOM Engineering to become their fire consultant, which opened up many more projects around the world that needed creative and innovative designs.

Ross's passion has always been firefighting and he specializes in designing these kinds of facilities. To this day, AECOM still turns to him for these projects.

Andrew Ellison

A results-driven construction and technical expert, with over 30 years of experience in construction, construction management, safety, quality assurance and control, engineering, design, and compliance.

Andrew is a PMI-Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) with a Registered Project Manager designation from the American Academy of Project Management.

He is also OSHA 30 Certified and proficient in safety management system design and implementation, first aid and CPR, advanced trade certification in building and carpentry, critical path project management, strategic planning, quality assurance and control, budget analysis, vendor and material management, 21st-century technology, communication, and organizational skills, and is also a self-motivated problem-solving and proficient in team leadership.

Cam Swainson

For the past twenty years, Cam has been involved in broadcasting and digital projects.

He began his career at Television New Zealand and subsequently worked on a variety of programming and digital projects, specializing in Māori and Pasifika content, creating websites, social media accounts, and video streaming pages.

His contributions at TVNZ resulted in collective video views of over ten million. Cam has a passion for technology, and has taught himself the skills needed to develop digital projects to provide digital solutions to various organisations.

He has handled budgets ranging from $70,000 to $2.4 million, never delivering a project beyond the allocated funds.
